Description:
The Missouri Public Health Laboratory was designed to meet National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards guidelines. The laboratories, including 13,200 GSF of BSL3 space, accommodate state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation and equipment. The modular design of the laboratories allows flexibility for future growth and is adaptable to changing testing methods and procedures.
Included in this facility are laboratories to conduct investigations in the areas of microbiology, virology, serology/immunology, chemistry, environmental bacteriology, breath alcohol, metabolic disease, and tuberculosis. Support spaces include an administrative suite, conference and training areas, scientist work areas, central accessioning, shipping & receiving, cold rooms, wash rooms, and sterilization/decontamination rooms. The building is designed and sited to efficiently utilize the sloping site and maximize views overlooking the Missouri River.
