Project:
Transgenic & Biobehavioral Measurement Animal Laboratory, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas
Project Type:

Description:
The project includes renovation of approximately 5,500 GSF of an existing animal care facility to accommodate new research. Included within the facility are the following areas: Micro-Injection and Genotyping Laboratory, Biobehavioral Measurement Laboratory, Mouse Husbandry Room, Pathology Laboratory, and Mouse Quarantine and Support Rooms. Within the confines of an existing building layout, considerable care was taken to create proper work flows and appropriate movements of rodent population.

Modifications to the existing HVAC system were designed to ensure proper pressurization relationships between the laboratory spaces and non-laboratory spaces. Remediation of existing problems with the building electrical system and upgrades to support the renovated areas were also included.
